The AT-17 Bobcat was a twin-engined advanced trainer aircraft designed and manufactured in the United States, and used during World War II to bridge the gap between single-engined trainers and twin-engined combat aircraft. The AT-17 was a wood and tubular steel, fabric covered aircraft powered by two Jacobs R-755-9 radial piston engines and was intended to be a lower cost option to larger twins like the Beech 18. More than 5,400 were produced with over 4,600 being procured by the US military.
After WWII, many surplus AT-17s were converted civilian aircraft and were used by small airlines, charter and "bush" operators and private pilots, some were even operated on floats.
This 1/9 scale AT-17 Bobcat is a sport scale plane designed to be as much fun to build as it is to fly. Construction is a breeze with Park Scale Models trademark 'Plans-Free' laser-cut interlocking construction, allowing you to be off the building board and in the air in less time than you've ever imagined!
With it's classic lines and excellent performance, the AT-17 Bobcat will really stand out anywhere you take it to fly.
