History
The Loving WR-1 was built by Neal Loving in 1949 to compete in the 190 cu. in. Goodyear Midget Class races. It's first flight was made by Neal on August 7, 1950 from Wayne County Airport. In 1951 Neal obtained his racing pilot certification in the WR-1 and successfully qualified for the 1951 Detroit air races. Due to a broken engine mount caused by the failure of the spinner, the plane was unable to continue in the competition. In 1964 Neal donated the WR-1 to the EAA Museum where it is currently on display.
