First flown in 1927, the Monocoupe was originally conceived by Donald Luscombe and evolved over the next few years into the Model 90a. Many feel that this beautiful combination of economical sporty performance, and soft, round curves is the epitome of Golden Age aircraft design. Monocoupes became famous for their comfort, speed and efficiency, and many, cherished by their owners, are still flying today. Depending on the engine, their top speeds range from 120-148 mph.
Park Scale Models brings the Monocoupe to life with this 1/8 scale rendition of the Golden Age classic. Over 5 years were spent locating factory drawings and going through numerous design iterations to develop this kit. The 1/8 scale Monocoupe 90a includes all the great features you'd expect from a Park Scale Models kit - interlocking and self aligning parts, light weight design and plans free construction. The Monocoupe 90a kit also has some new features like laser cut wing sheeting and pre-bent landing gear wires, making it one of the most complete kits we offer. Optional features like pre-soldered landing gear, pre-bent wing strut mounts and pre-made wheel pant mounts make building the Monocoupe even easier.
